THE FEAR OF THE LORD

“Yahweh is high and lifted up; he dwells on high!

He lavished his justice and righteousness on Zion!

He will be your constant source of stability in changing times,

and out of his abundant love, he gives you

the riches of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.

Yes, the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure!”

Isaiah 33

Two little girls standing in the middle of a wheat field ripe for harvest bent down as they

stumbled upon a beautiful box. A treasure box. With great anticipation, they slowly lifted the lid. A bright light burst forth as the lid lifted to reveal a beautiful gold key. The light was coming from the key. I heard the Lord say: Isaiah 33

The Lord gave me this sweet vision during our time together. I asked Jesus a question, one I have repeatedly examined. My weary heart was longing for an answer to the secrets of His heart and the heavenly wisdom needed for the season. "Yes, the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure" The treasure? Jesus. It is He that will be my constant source of stability in changing times, loving me lavishly with the riches of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.

This scene that played out in my imagination was the answer to my weariness. The field is ripe for harvest. The season is changing. It is time to go deeper in my friendship with God. The key to the unique treasure of hearing the voice of the Lord giving me wisdom and knowledge is the Fear of the Lord.

The fear of the Lord is not, being afraid of Him, nor does it believe he is like an earthly father who is complacent or indifferent who might punish me at any given moment, but reverent awe of who He is. As I surrender my heart more and more, He will reveal His holiness and majesty that wash away anything but a deep, consuming love for Him as He loves me. In this place of intense passion, of knowing our Father, wisdom for this new season will come. As we honor Him and give our lives to Him in purity and humility, we receive power in our encounters with Him. In this place, our divine purpose will be refreshed. The authority to complete our assignment will be given. The fear of the Lord – It is a life consumed with Him, focused on who He is and His great love for us. Everything else falls away in His presence. He is God.

As we turn our hearts toward Him, it is His voice, empowering us to live powerfully within your divine purpose so we will build a lasting and beautiful legacy.
