Inspiration for coloring together
Look to see. Listen to hear. Sense to feel.
Children can be taught to see a picture in their mind's eyes, to listen to what the Lord might be saying, or even to have a sense of what others might feel at any given time.
Ask the child to close their eyes. Ask the Lord to give them a picture with their eyes closed. Have the children share what they saw. Help them to know that what they see is significant and God wants to speak to them.

-
Before your child colors the page, say a quick prayer with them, asking the Lord to show them something He wants them to know about themselves.
-
As the child colors, pray that the Lord will sing a song of encouragement over their hearts. Ask your child what song they are hearing God sing. No matter what the child says, you can continue the conversation by asking the Holy Spirit what is meant by this, or you can ask the child what they think. Why do you think God is singing this over you today? Whatever fun song comes to your child's mind, sing it with them.
-
Tell your child to decide who this picture might be given to when they finish coloring. Then, ask the child to listen for a song or an encouraging word that the Lord is singing over that person. Write it at the bottom of the picture and allow the child to give it to the person.
-
While coloring, ask the Lord to reveal something new about God that he wants your child to know. After they have finished, allow them to share what God revealed with you, and then ask them why they think God wants them to know this.
-
Have the child ask the Holy Spirit something beautiful about themselves. Then, have them color the rose as if it were being given to them as a gift from God. When they are done, ask them why God chose those colors to give to them.

Do the same as a gift for someone else.
